This was a great place to swim. Before the Hudson River Park "police" made it impossible to look at the grass or the water without getting a ticket, this beach and its strong Hudson current were big lures for meatmarket dogs. The beach was always full of railroad spikes and torn life preservers and miscellaneous, interesting stuff that had fallen or floated from passing ships.
